From Sister Judy's Desk
Spirit of the Living God,
open us to your dynamic presence,
stir our stagnant waters,
waken our sleeping gifts.

 Spirit of the Living God,
open us to your transforming power,
move us with courage to go to the depths
free us to let go.

Spirit of the Living God,
open us,
guide us through this School Year
into a future full of hope.

UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS GRANT
We are very grateful for the generosity of the University of St. Thomas for awarding Holy Ghost School a Math Grant totaling $5000.00..  The grant proposes the goal of increasing student-led learning facilitated by technology-rich instruction.  The equipment that will be purchased with this grant includes an interactive whiteboard, video projector, desktop computer, printer, software and miscellaneous computer peripherals that will enable every classroom to connect their internet access to the TV for overall class instruction.  This student-led instruction will take the form of whiteboard challenges, power point re-teching, and powered-up student review.  God continually blesses us with such generous benefactors who believe and support all that Holy Ghost School is doing to enrich the education of our students.  May the University of St.Thomas be blessed in many ways for caring so deeply about our children.
2008~2009 REGISTRATION
We are taking applications for the coming year in all grade levels.  Several grades have only a few openings left.  Limited tuition assistance is available based on income eligibility.  Because of this, families are awarded assistance on a "first-come" basis. More detailed registration information can be located the web-page under "Admissions".  The school office will be closed during the month of July. Registration packets can be picked up at the Parish Office during their working hours and the completed forms with fees may be dropped off there as well.  Our first day of school is August 13, 2008 for the children.
 INTERNET  SAFETY
The following information was obtained from Dr. Tim Tyson, the principal of Mabry Middle School in Georgia.  He was the presenter  for our
teachers' in-service on Februrary 19th, addressing internet safety and technology in the classroom.
"Sometimes we just think we know where our children are...in the next room.  But sitting at the computer they can be anywhere in the world talking about anything with anyone.
Risks to Students Include:
One major recommendation is that computers should NEVER be kept in the children's bedrooms.  If their computers have wireless hookup...children can log on to the internet even if you do not subscribe.
